Proverbs 10:19 – When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise. In this study, we will examine the idea of words and how the quantity of words can be a meter chart for our level of wisdom.
Proverbs 3:12 – because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in. In this study we will examine the disciplinarian in the Lord, and more importantly, why does he bother to discipline us.
Proverbs 14:10 – Each heart knows its own bitterness, and no one else can share its joy. In this study we are going to examine what this verse suggests – that nobody will truly understand you, whether in bitterness or in joy.
Proverbs 22:6 – Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. In this study we will examine the value of teaching children the right way to go.
Proverbs 31:10 – A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. In this study, we will use real examples from the Bible to examine the validity of the idea that a wife of noble character is worth far more than rubies.
Proverbs 29:18 – Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. In this study we will examine the idea of God-given visions and what they can mean to us.
Proverbs 4:23 – Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life. In this study we will examine the notion of guarding and why we need to guard our hearts.
Proverbs 17:22 – A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. In this study we will examine how important joy is to a sick person, whether physically, emotionally or spiritually.
Proverbs 9:10 – The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. In this study, we will examine the the pursuit of spiritual knowledge and wisdom in comparison to the pursuit of worldly knowledge and wisdom.
Proverbs 3:34 – He mocks proud mockers but gives grace to the humble. In this study we will examine what are some of the characteristics of a proud person, and in contrast, the characteristics of a humble person.
Proverbs 11:7 -When a wicked man dies, his hope perishes; all he expected from his power comes to nothing. Solomon here departs from his norm and emphasizes on the same point rather than use an antithesis to parallel his point. In this study we will look at the relevance of this emphasis, and ponder a little on the Christian hope.
