Genesis 26:7 – When the men of that place asked him about his wife, he said, “She is my sister,” because he was afraid to say, “She is my wife.” He thought, “The men of this place might kill me on account of Rebekah, because she is beautiful.” In this study, we will examine this case study of a repeated sin and how it permeates in our life.
Genesis 32:25 – When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man. In this study, we will examine the nature of this supernatural encounter, and its impact on Jacob.
Psalm 23:4 – Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. In this study, we will analyse this verse bit by bit with heavy reference to the rest of psalm 23.
1 Peter 5:7 – Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. In this study, we will examine what the consequences of God caring for us are and how it relates to our worrying.
1 John 4:18 – There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. In this study we will examine the idea of fear being the opposite of love, and how we have no reason to fear if we are able to love.
Exodus 14:13 – Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. In this study, we will examine the three steps that the Israelites were told to take in the face of immense danger and fear – do not be afraid, stand firm, and witness God’s deliverance.
Mark 5:36 – Ignoring what they said, Jesus told the synagogue ruler, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.” In this study, we will examine how in Christ, we can still believe even if the situation seems to be impossible.
Proverbs 9:10 – The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. In this study, we will examine the the pursuit of spiritual knowledge and wisdom in comparison to the pursuit of worldly knowledge and wisdom.
Hosea 4:6 – my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children. In this study we will examine Hosea and the subject of holy fear of the Lord.
Luke 5:8 – When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!” In this study we will examine’s Peter’s first understanding that Jesus is Lord and track his progress from this first moment to faith to his subsequent acts of faith.
