2 Corinthians 1:4 – who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. In this study, through the epistle of Paul to the Corinthians, we will examine how we can be a comfort to others.
Galatians 5:4 – You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. In this study, we will examine the differences between these two justification methods and attempt to restore to law what it deserves – just not the justification part.
Joshua 7:19 – Then Joshua said to Achan, “My son, give glory to the Lord, the God of Israel, and honor him. Tell me what you have done; do not hide it from me.” In today’s study, we will examine the words used by Joshua to induce a confession out of Achan, and discover the depth of these words beyond the way they are usually applied in our lives today.
1 Timothy 1:15 – Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. In this study, we will examine this seemingly self-depreciating declaration from Paul and find out why it is so important for us to have humility in grace, but not mock modesty.
Acts 4:20 – For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard. In this study, we will examine Peter’s and John’s reaction upon being threatened and the steps that they took after that.
Luke 6:46 – Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? In this study, we will examine the significance of the term ‘Lord’ and what handing our lordship over to Jesus means.
Hebrews 12:14 – Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. In this study, we will explore the idea of peace and holiness being attributes that we need to pursue.
Proverbs 10:19 – When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise. In this study, we will examine the idea of words and how the quantity of words can be a meter chart for our level of wisdom.
Psalm 127:1 – Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labour in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. This study will be focused on the futility of labour without God.
Job 31:6 – let God weigh me in honest scales and he will know that I am blameless— In this study, we will focus our attention on the heavenly scale of God, and what it means for us.
Romans 9:14 – What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all! In this study, with close reference to Paul’s counter argument, we will take an in depth study on this question altogether – is God just?
