Psalm 25:9 – He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way. In this study, we will examine why there is great value in humility.
Luke 18:14 – “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” In this study, we will compare these two men, their behaviour and their prayers in order to find out why is it that the tax collector was justified before God, and not the Pharisee.
Matthew 11:29 – Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. In this study, we will split this verse up into three parts and look into each part bit by bit, referencing heavily to the other two verses in the context.
Philippians 2:4 – not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In this study, we will examine the christian humility and how it is important to distinguish ourselves humbly.
Ezra 8:21 – There, by the Ahava Canal, I proclaimed a fast, so that we might humble ourselves before our God and ask him for a safe journey for us and our children, with all our possessions. In this study we will take a curious examination at how ancient people prayed for journey safety – and on top of that, we will look at why it is important for us to pray for our little ones.
Micah 6:8 – He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. In this study we will examine the three requirements that the Lord has of us, as recounted by Micah.
James 4:7 – Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. In this study we will examine the direct relationship between submitting to God and resisting the devil, and the qualities that we need to have in order to do so.
Proverbs 3:34 – He mocks proud mockers but gives grace to the humble. In this study we will examine what are some of the characteristics of a proud person, and in contrast, the characteristics of a humble person.
