Isaiah 9:6 – for to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. In this study we will consider the roles of the Messiah as listed by Isaiah, on top of a little off-topic look at King Hezekiah.
Malachi 4:2 – But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall. In this study we will examine the significance of the coming of the Messiah, who was described as a sun of righteousness.
Isaiah 53:5 – But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. It was a prophecy that comforted the people in a time of immense suffering, but today, after the prophecy is fulfilled, we can still look back on this verse and marvel at the Messiah.
