Joshua 7:19 – Then Joshua said to Achan, “My son, give glory to the Lord, the God of Israel, and honor him. Tell me what you have done; do not hide it from me.” In today’s study, we will examine the words used by Joshua to induce a confession out of Achan, and discover the depth of these words beyond the way they are usually applied in our lives today.
Deuteronomy 5:16 – Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the LORD your God is giving you. In this study we will take a brief look at this verse as we ponder about how it is important to us today.
Mark 6:4 – Jesus said to them, “Only in his hometown, among his relatives and in his own house is a prophet without honor.” In this study, using the examples of Jesus’ hometown, we will examine the detrimental effects of a false sense of familiarity to God.
Romans 12:15 – Rejoice with those who rejoice, mourn with those who mourn. As Paul urges the Roman Church to love one another, he sets high definitions of the expected love and in this study, we’ll look at how we can empathize for others genuinely as well.
